Forgot or lost your parkrun barcode? What to do
Updated 2 November 2026
It happens to everyone. Here's what it means for your result this week, how to get your barcode back, and a few ways to make sure you always have it.
If you're at parkrun without it
You can still run. parkrun's rule is "no barcode, no result", so without a barcode your time usually won't be added to your profile, and volunteers can't add it afterwards. Before you start, check your phone and watch: if you've ever added your barcode to Wallet, it may already be there.
Get your barcode back
- Your athlete ID is the A and numbers printed under your barcode. It's also in your parkrun welcome email and your weekly results emails, so search your inbox for "parkrun".
- To print it again, sign in to your profile on the parkrun website and download your barcode. If you've forgotten your details, use parkrun's help pages to get a reminder.
- Got your ID but no printer? ScanMe.run turns it straight into a barcode on your phone, or a card you can print later.
Never forget it again
- Put it in your phone's wallet. ScanMe.run adds it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. On iPhone it pops up on your lock screen when you arrive at your parkrun.
- Put it on your watch so the phone can stay at home. See the watch guide.
- Keep a printed card in your running belt, car or kit bag. ScanMe.run can print a wallet-sized card with both a barcode and a QR code.
- Make one for everyone in the family, including junior parkrunners, so nobody is left out on the day.
Digital barcodes have been accepted since November 2021. parkrun still recommends carrying a printed one as a backup.
Ready to try it?
